About the publication
On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Academy of Applied Arts Rijeka, an exhibition of works authored by the Academy's faculty was opened at the Museum of the City of Rijeka. It is a group exhibition featuring as many as some 60 lecturers. The secret behind this large number is reflected in the fact that the list includes not only current but also former, retired faculty members who, each in their own way and in their own time, left their mark during the 20 years of the institution's activity. Consequently, the exhibition brings together works of a transgenerational and multidisciplinary nature. These works have, to a significant extent, served as a kind of platform on which a new generation of artists has been and continues to be shaped. Naturally, what that new generation accepts or rejects from this platform depends above all on the generation itself. The task of identifying the thread that will give coherence to an exhibition of such diverse approaches fell to Branko Franceschi. He is also the author of the catalogue's introductory text, entitled "Twenty Years Later."
