The Academy of Applied Arts in Rijeka presents a new edition of the “GraficaRi” project – an international juried exhibition promoting contemporary printmaking by students and emerging artists, with the aim of encouraging cultural exchange and dialogue through contemporary printmaking practices. The international significance of this event was confirmed in its previous edition, which received 635 artworks from 32 countries, with a total of 119 artists selected by an international committee to be exhibited at the Kortil Gallery.

This year's program features an exhibition at the Rijeka City Museum – Kockica, alongside professional workshops exploring the carborundum printmaking technique and the craft of hand-binding artists’ books.

Who can participate?

Students of art programs and academies, as well as artists up to 40 years of age who respond to the open call within the specified deadline, are eligible to participate.

Artworks in all printmaking techniques are accepted, including artists’ books, print installations, and digital prints in combination with traditional printmaking techniques.

The selection process is carried out in two phases:

  • Phase 1: The international selection committee chooses artworks in digital format based on applications submitted exclusively through the online form.
  • Phase 2: Artists whose works are selected in the digital phase send their original artworks.

Based on the submitted original artworks, the international committee will grant monetary prizes to young artists and students, as well as several equal-value commendations for outstanding work.

Applications are open until 12 August 2026.
