International Cooperation and Incoming Students Information
The Academy of Applied Arts, University of Rijeka strongly supports and actively develops international cooperation with partner institutions and the wider artistic and cultural community in Croatia, Europe, and worldwide. For incoming international students, international cooperation represents an integral part of everyday academic and artistic life at the Academy.
Students may spend part of their studies at the Academy through established mobility programmes such as Erasmus+, CEEPUS, and YUFE – Young Universities for the Future of Europe. Through these programmes, incoming students can enroll in courses, participate in artistic projects, and work closely with mentors within a supportive and creative academic environment.
International partnerships with art academies, universities, and related institutions enable a continuous exchange of students, teaching staff, and artistic practices.
The Academy regularly hosts visiting artists, guest lecturers, and international experts, creating opportunities for incoming students to engage with diverse artistic approaches and contemporary methodologies beyond those defined by standard curricula.
Such exchange of ideas and experiences allows incoming students to critically reflect on their own artistic practice, compare different educational and cultural contexts, and further develop their creative and professional skills. At the same time, these interactions contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of teaching practices at the Academy, in line with the internationalization strategy of the University of Rijeka.
The Academy also participates in international professional networks such as the ELIA – European League of Institutes of the Arts, which further supports mobility, collaboration, and international visibility, although student mobility is primarily organized through Erasmus+, CEEPUS, and YUFE frameworks.
Incoming students are warmly welcomed as full members of the Academy’s artistic community and are encouraged to actively participate in courses, workshops, exhibitions, and collaborative projects.
