What is photography and video?
Photography and video are artistic disciplines that function as separate activities within the expanded field of contemporary art and media. Photography is the art of capturing a decisive moment, while video art relies on moving images. The basic medium of photography and video is light. Photo and video equipment transmit light onto film or a digital chip through a lens, and the resulting light record is processed analogously or digitally. Although photography and video are independent artistic activities, both are very important tools for artists to present their own work – as a means of documenting the reality that surrounds them, promoting a particular product, or telling a story.
If you believe that photography and video are created, not just captured or triggered, let them be the media through which you will convey to others the way you see the world.
