ACTING

What is acting?

Acting is the skill of public artistic performance of various roles, achieved through speech, mime, gestures, singing, and playing musical instruments. The actor's task is to portray a role assigned by text, drama, or screenplay, shaped by directorial guidance. Acting is the foundation of all classical theatrical performances – comedies, tragedies, dramas, and synthetic representations – operas and ballets, as well as films and performances of other modern media such as radio and television.

W. Shakespeare said that all the world's a stage. Once you step onto the boards that mean life, you'll understand why.

What knowledge will I gain?

You will become familiar with key performance methods and learn to integrate physical, vocal, and musical skills into a cohesive whole. You will apply the well-known “kinesensic” method of Arthur Lessac in working on body and voice to achieve synesthesia, flexibility, and melodiousness. You will acquire knowledge in dramaturgy and learn to independently interpret contemporary productions. Also, you will be introduced to basic concepts, development, and dynamics of media and artistic activities.
